Classes
Building Blocks Cooperative Preschool offers mixed-age classes for children ages two to five years old. Classes are overseen by a Lead Teacher and 2 to 4 assistant teachers to ensure student-to-teacher ratio of 5:1. Teachers provide cohort-differentiated instruction, adjusting lessons and activities to fit the specific learning stages and abilities of each age group in the classroom. Children must be 2 before enrollment. We offer rolling enrollment!
Core Program
Programming runs Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm with 2-5 days a week enrollment options.
Our Core Program is all about igniting curiosity and fostering a passion for learning. Focused on play-based and child-led learning through hands-on exploration and developmentally appropriate activities, children engage in a variety of open-ended experiences while building foundational social and life skills in an enjoyable, interactive way. Our caring, nurturing environment promotes growing independence, encourages social interactions, and helps children express themselves confidently while allowing them to learn at their own pace.
Extended Day
Programming runs Monday-Friday 12:30 pm-3:30 pm (5:30pm pick-up coming in 2026) and may be purchased in hourly segmented packages at a committed school year rate, as outlined below. Should greater hours be required, a package can be upgraded in a school year.
The Extended Day Program provides added flexibility for families while continuing to honor the values of our play-based, child-led model.
Drop-in Options
Building Blocks offers drop-in days and extended hours when space allows. This option is available for families who would like occasional additional care without a long-term commitment. Availability depends on staffing and availability.
Summers
Weekly Summer Camps typically run Monday-Thursday as a mixed-age class. Offerings are subject to change year to year based on interest and staffing. Sessions are held mostly outdoors. Once registration is open and announced, register using your Jovial Family Portal. New families interested in Summer Camp must schedule a tour.
