Classes

Building Blocks Cooperative Preschool offers mixed-age classes for children ages two to five years old. Classes are overseen by a Lead Teacher and 2 to 4 assistant teachers to ensure student-to-teacher ratio of 5:1. Teachers provide cohort-differentiated instruction, adjusting lessons and activities to fit the specific learning stages and abilities of each age group in the classroom. Children must be 2 before enrollment. We offer rolling enrollment!

Tuesday/Thursday Class

Programming runs 8:30 am to 12:30 pm for children 2-3 years old. Must be 2 before enrollment. We offer rolling enrollment for 2 year olds!

This class is all about igniting curiosity and fostering a passion for learning in our youngest preschoolers. Focused on play-based and child-led learning, our toddler program offers a supportive space designed to meet the specific developmental needs of this age group. Through creative play, hands-on exploration, and developmentally appropriate activities, children engage in a variety of open-ended experiences while building foundational social and life skills in an enjoyable, interactive way. Our caring, nurturing environment promotes growing independence, encourages social interactions, and helps children express themselves confidently—while allowing them to learn at their own pace.

Monday/Wednesday/Friday Class

Programming runs 8:30 am to 12:30 pm for children 3-5 years old.  Must be 3 years old on or before September 1st.

This class takes advantage of the many benefits of mixed-age learning. Younger children gain confidence and enhance their communication and social skills, while older children develop a strong sense of responsibility, independence, empathy, and leadership. The class includes blocks of unstructured playtime featuring activities such as cooking, art, dramatic play, literacy, and science. Children also participate in storytimes designed to stretch their attention spans and develop self-regulation skills. Projects driven by the children’s interests, such as story writing, gardening, and construction, along with culturally appropriate holiday celebrations create a program that is inclusive and child-focused. This approach fosters increased independence, cooperation, and confidence, and the class can be repeated until a child is eligible for kindergarten.
